Import Export Code (IEC)
The Import Export Code (IEC) is a mandatory document required to start any Import or Export business in India. It is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. This unique 10-digit code enables an individual or business entity to legally engage in international trade.
Key Highlights:
- IEC is compulsory for all importers and exporters.
- Issued based on the applicant’s PAN (Permanent Account Number).
- Only one IEC is permitted per PAN.
- If multiple IECs are issued for a single PAN, the holder must surrender the duplicates.

Advance Authorization / Duty Free Import Authorization (DFIA)
The Advance Authorization (AA) or Duty Free Import Authorization (DFIA) scheme allows duty-free import of inputs that are physically incorporated in export products. It operates under Chapter 4 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and supports exporters by reducing production costs and boosting competitiveness.
Eligibility:
- Manufacturer Exporters and Merchant Exporters (with supporting manufacturers).
Our Role:
- Online filing of applications under Advance Authorization/DFIA.
- Fixation, re-fixation, or ratification of SION/Adhoc norms with DGFT HQ.
- Invalidation for local procurement of inputs.
- License redemption, EODC (Export Obligation Discharge Certificate) assistance.
- Revalidation, Export Obligation (E.O.) extension, and transferabilit
- Manufacturer Exporters and Merchant Exporters (with supporting manufacturers).
Our Role:

EPCG Authorization
The Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme facilitates the import of capital goods and spares at zero customs duty to enhance India’s export performance. However, import under this scheme is subject to an export obligation equivalent to six times of the duty saved, to be fulfilled within six years.
Our Role:
- Online application filing and license issuance.
- Assistance with post-issuance formalities and documentation.
- Monitoring and tracking of export obligation progress over six years.
- Processing of EODC (Export Obligation Discharge Certificate).
- Invalidation for local procurement and related compliance support.
Import/Export Authorization (Restricted Items)
Certain goods are categorized as Restricted Items under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and cannot be freely imported or exported. For such goods, traders must obtain a special authorization from the DGFT, known as Import/Export Authorization (Restricted), issued from DGFT Headquarters, New Delhi.
Our Role:
- Preparation and online submission of applications.
- Continuous follow-up with DGFT for approval and issuance of authorization.
- Guidance on documentation and compliance with policy conditions.
Export House Recognition
Export House Recognition is granted to exporters based on their export performance over the previous three financial years plus the current year. Recognized exporters are classified into categories such as:
One Star, Two Star, Three Star, Four Star, and Five Star Export Houses.
This recognition enhances an exporter’s credibility and provides various benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy.
Our Role:
- Assessment of eligibility and data compilation.
- Filing online application for Export House status.
- Assistance in document preparation and post-approval procedures.
SCOMET Authorization
The SCOMET Authorization is required for the export of items covered under Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment, and Technologies (SCOMET). These are controlled goods listed in Appendix 3 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and are subject to special monitoring for security and strategic purposes.
Our Role:
- Filing online SCOMET applications through the DGFT portal.
- Liaison with relevant government authorities for technical evaluation.
- Compliance assistance and documentation as per export control norms.
Free Sale and Commerce Certificate (FSC)
The Free Sale and Commerce Certificate (FSC) certifies that a product intended for export is freely sold in India and not restricted or prohibited for sale. This certificate does not imply product evaluation for safety or efficacy but assures foreign authorities that the item is freely traded in India.
Our Role:
- Application and documentation support for FSC issuance.
- Coordination with relevant authorities for timely certification.
- Assistance with renewal or revalidation if required.
Certificate of Origin (CoO)
The Certificate of Origin (CoO) is an official document that certifies the country where goods are produced, manufactured, or processed. It is often required by importing countries to determine the product’s eligibility for tariff benefits or preferential trade agreements.
Our Role:
- Preparation and verification of CoO documents.
- Online/offline application processing through authorized agencies or DGFT.
- Guidance on choosing between Preferential and Non-Preferential CoO.
